General Safety Advice
For those with medical conditions, please consult your doctor before tight lacing or wearing your corset for extended periods.
Waist training is not suitable for teenagers or adults who are still developing.
Keep garments out of the reach of children. Although our corsets are manufactured to a very high standard, they contain small components which may come loose over time. Faux crystals are glued on, lacing can be removed, and eyelets may loosen — all of which could present a choking hazard for children. Some corset materials are flammable; do not smoke while wearing your corset.
Satin polyester can cause irritation. For people with sensitive skin, we strongly recommend choosing a corset with a cotton lining. If you notice any rash or changes in skin colour, remove the garment immediately and consult a doctor.
Waist Training – Sensible Advice for Safe Waist Reduction
Waist training is the process of permanently altering your figure by wearing tightly laced corsets for long periods of time, usually over the course of many months. Although Corset Story’s “Waist Taming” and “Expert Waist Training” garments are suitable for waist training, please be aware that there can be serious side effects for those who are inexperienced.
Corset Story is a leading expert in the design and development of waist training corsets, but we always advise customers considering waist training to speak to a qualified medical professional before beginning. We are not medical experts and cannot give health-related advice or recommendations.
Your wellbeing is our priority. We want you to achieve successful results safely. Our team is here to help you choose the best-fitting corset for your needs, but it would be irresponsible for us to advise on waist training techniques or practices. If you are interested in waist training, we recommend discussing your goals with your doctor or GP — they know your medical history and can monitor your progress safely.
Be smart, do your research, understand the risks, and ensure you are supervised. Corset Story has commissioned an independent medical report on waist training safety, which you can view here: Sensible Advice for Waist Training.
